The piece that stood out the most to at the Zulu exhibit was the apron that used to be worn by the Zulu women. The overall colors and designs was what inspired me. While I did some researched on the Zulu people I noticed that they rarely wore pants, and they wore skirts with pleats. This also gave me the idea to design hight waisted pants . My swatch selection were different color denim fabrics and ikat print since it looks tribal. After reviewing all my sketches I knew that I wanted to make pants, and make them look edgy and funky, I used my two different prints of ikat and had the back and the front be different. I paired it with a solid off white cropped top to compliment both sides of the pants.
